EARLY LIFE
Krishanu Was was born on 30th May 1984, into a Bengali family from Kolkata where his father Milan Kanti Dutta (deceased) worked for a multi-national FMCG company. His mother Aloka Dutta (deceased) was a home maker.
Growing up in Kolkata, Dutta completed his schooling from The Future Foundation School, from where he passed his ICSE (2002) and the plus two from Bangabashi college a few years later. Following that, Dutta pursued his Bachelor's degree from the University of Calcutta, where he chose the stream of BCom. Krishanu had been training as a singer from an early age and after seven years of classical tutelage, started performing in the school band from the year 1998.
CAREER
EARLY CAREER
After their mother's passing in mid 2000, Krishanu along with his brother Moinak had to support the family by doing odd jobs, as his father was also ailing and soon passed away in the year 2003. Since 2003, Krishanu had been balancing his education, career and passion for singing, like his brother who is an actor, writer, musician and a singer.
After graduating from the University of Calcutta, Krishanu shifted his career to call centers and worked for many years as a customer care executive for a reputed telecom company.
TEANSITION INTO I.T.
After gathering ample experience in the customer support role, Krishanu got an offer from a reputed I.T. firm and joined as a customer tech support executive, a position that he held till the end of his days.
AS A SINGER
Krishanu started to perform as a singer from an early age, as he joined his school band, performing for various school fests and competitions. Soon after passing from the school, Krishanu formed his own Bengali rock band and started doing stage shows. His control over his art, and his versatility in form, soon attracted other aspiring bands who were lookin for vocalists. This caused Krishanu to sing for many other band outfits ranging in genre from rock, to metal, to folk.
Krishanu released his first studio recording BRISHTI BHEJA[2] on 1st of January 2023 with his brother Moinak.
